Emerging singer-songwriter Mckye is inviting you to laugh with (or at) her tricky tricky trauma.

She grew up listening to the LOTR soundtrack, you better believe shit is going to be dramatic. Fret not, the vibe is stomping your feet, looking up at the stars and hugging your buddy. Just be willing to contemplate your miraculous and finite human experience because Mckye’s layered vocals ring out with truth: YOU ARE LOVE! And we’re all in this together. Soup of the day is alt-folk and singing from the soul.

After graduating with honours in Vocal Performance from Selkirk College, Mckye had a fun mental breakdown that was definitely worth it for the plot. Using music to help her move through anxiety and CPTSD became a priority and she eventually discovered the wonderful world of sound bathing. She’s been running a sound meditation practice in Winnipeg, MB for the past three years and is ready to emerge from her cocoon like the swamp-witch she is. However plot twists are plentiful, new tracks that tell her story of coming out late in life and the radical self compassion that got her through it.

April 2024 was BIG WOW for Mckye. She released her first single “Scrollin” which was then selected to be showcased at the “Good + Plenty” New Producers showcase here in Winnipeg. Now she’s getting ready for “Late Bloomer” her musical gay showcase as well as writing, performing and collaborating around Winnipeg and beyond with her EP release in the Fall of 2024.
